When the 8th ID heard about an outstanding Market Garden event we had to "jump" right into it.  No pun intended.  But, we did turn in our favorite infantry outfits and donned the uniforms of the US 82nd Airborne.  We posed as a glider unit and had a great time dodging German land mines and going at them in a sort of "island" hopping assault.  The "islands" were actually small wooded areas seperated by open fields, they were hard fought all the same.  We hope to maintain an airborne impression once a year or so.
